University of Perpetual Help-Las Piñas Campus emerged again as the champions during the recent MRSP Mechatronics Competition held on November 28-29, 2017 at MIRDC Compound, Taguig City. Said event was sponsored by DOST- MIRDC and Mechatronics and Robotics Society of the Philippines (MRSP).
Mc Jio Hondo, Arvin Marquez, and Dexter Dolendo, 4th year and 5th year computer engineering students respectively with their coach Engr. Shiella Marie P. Garcia and trainer Mr. Sandino E. Serviño competed against some of the country’s top engineering students. MAPUA University won 1st runner up while Cebu Technological University bagged the second runner up. Other schools who competed are TUP Taguig, Adamson University, and University of Baguio.
The Computer Engineering students went through the elimination round last Nov. 29, 2017. It was a written examination followed by a hands-on simulation and hard wiring using Programmable Logic Controller. Out of the several participants, only five of them made it in the final round which was held on the same day.
Mechatronics Competition aims to propagate information about the current standards in mechatronics being observed locally and internationally.
