Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy

The program is designed to develop physical therapists who can competently practice in variety of settings (i.e. hospital and community) whether locally or internationally. A graduate is expected to be able to competently handle orthopedic, cardiopulmonary, integumentary, musculoskeletal, geriatric, pediatric and neurologic conditions at the end of the program. Moreover, he is expected to be able to competently assume the responsibilities of a clinician, educator, researcher and leader at the conclusion of his study.

Philosophy

The University of Perpetual Help System DALTA Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy (PT) Program and Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy (OT) Program subscribes to the basic tenets of University of Perpetual Help System DALTA and affirming that an individual imbued with the Divine character of excellence, integrity and social responsibility is a vital catalyst of societal transformation and development towards the achievement of highest quality of life. It sees that an individual who is capable of upholding his own dignity and quality of life is most capable of assuming the role of a vital contributor to the local and global social milieu. The UPHSD PT and OT is seen as a vital agent towards this individual and societal development.

The primary mission of the BSPT Program and BSOT Program is to produce physical therapists and occupational therapists who are competent in the science and art of physical therapy or occupational therapy whose practice is imbued with excellence, social responsibility and integrity so they can meet the health care needs of the Filipino society at individual, family and community levels across the lifespan.
