A prolific writer and professor of history and politics from Netherlands gave a seminar to students, faculty and non-teaching personnel of University of Perpetual Help-System DALTA- Las Pinas and Molino, Cavite campuses recently. The speaker, Professor Godfried Leonard Olaf baron van Boetzelaer gave the audience a comprehensive lecture on political, socio-economic and ecological issues that pose a threat to global security. His extensive knowledge on world history provided the audience with insights on the relevance of current political developments to their day-to-day existence. It tackled issues on Islamic terrorism, proliferation of ABC weapons, tensions between powers, organized international crime, ecological crisis, climate change, food and water scarcity, global pandemic and demographic problems. Professor Boetzelaer is a visiting lecturer in the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA, (Calamba, Las PiƱas and Molino campuses). He is an author of several books on international politics. The seminar is one of the activities sponsored by the university that prepares its students to increase their awareness on the socio-political developments confronting Filipinos here and abroad. Said seminar was attended by students enrolled in the programs on Psychology, Mass Communication, Education, Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Business Administration, Accountancy, Engineering, Computer Science and Nursing. |
