The UPHSD and Maynilad Water Action Summit 2025-2026 from Campus to Community Awareness Day

On October 27, 2025, the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA (UPHSD), in partnership with Maynilad Water Academy, successfully held the Water Action Summit 2025–2026 with the theme “From Campus to Community: Advancing SDG 6 Awareness.” The event aimed to promote Sustainable Development Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) by fostering awareness, responsible water management, and sustainable community practices within and beyond the university. The event commenced at the Guadalupe Moran Building with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, symbolizing the formal opening of the Water Action Summit and the university’s commitment to environmental stewardship and community partnership. Present during the ceremony were UPHSD administrators, faculty members, student representatives, and Maynilad officials who collectively emphasized the importance of water conservation and education as a shared responsibility. Following the opening, the program continued at the Ernesto Palanca Hall, where representatives from Maynilad delivered insightful talks on water sustainability, wastewater management, and the role of youth and academic institutions in promoting clean water access. The discussions highlighted Maynilad’s ongoing projects and collaborations that contribute to achieving SDG 6 targets in local communities. The summit also featured interactive sessions that encouraged students and faculty to participate in advocacy campaigns, research initiatives, and extension projects aligned with water sustainability. These engagements reinforced UPHSD’s mission of producing socially responsible and environmentally conscious graduates through experiential learning and community partnership. All departments of UPHSD actively participated in the event, demonstrating the university’s unified commitment to advancing environmental awareness and sustainable development initiatives. Benchmarking Visit of Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Dasmariñas at University of Perpetual Help System DALTA

On October 15, 2025 the Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Dasmariñas (KLD) visited the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA (UPHSD) for a meeting held at the Moot Court, Las Piñas Campus, to express their interest in conducting a benchmarking activity on the university’s Bilibid Community Extension Program. The visit highlighted KLD’s aim to learn from UPHSD’s best practices in implementing meaningful and sustainable community outreach programs. The benchmarking initiative seeks to understand the framework, coordination, and impact of UPHSD’s extension efforts within the New Bilibid Prison, which provide educational, livelihood, and rehabilitation opportunities for Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs). Through this engagement, KLD hopes to strengthen its own community extension programs and align its initiatives with effective models of social responsibility and human development. UPHSD, recognized for its commitment to service and transformative education, welcomed the benchmarking interest of KLD as part of its advocacy to share knowledge and foster collaboration among higher education institutions. UPHSD and CvSU–Imus Strengthen Academic Partnership Through Collaborative Meeting

On October 9, 2025, a collaborative partnership meeting between the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA (UPHSD) and Cavite State University (CvSU) – Imus Campus was held at the School Director’s Office, UPHSD Las Piñas Campus. The meeting aimed to strengthen institutional linkages through discussions on ongoing initiatives, partnership updates, and future collaborative programs focused on academic excellence and institutional development. Representing CvSU–Imus were Dr. Armi Grace B. Desingaño, Campus Administrator; Dr. Alfe M. Solina, Chairperson of the Department of Management; Sixto N. Ras Jr., Chairperson of the Department of Physical Education; Luningning A. Valdez, Institutional Development Officer; Dr. Liane Vina G. Ocampo, Research Coordinator; Myralene Grace Lucas, Knowledge Management Center (KMC) Coordinator; Bernardo C. Pangilinan, Program Coordinator for BS Business Administration; Margarette B. Soberano, Campus Secretary; and Cromwell R. Cabalu, Linkages Officer. From UPHSD, attendees included Dr. Gabriel Archemedez Y. Flores, Director for Planning, Linkages, ETEEAP and CPD; Dr. Eduardo Zialcita, Dean of the Graduate School; Dr. Dexter Soguilon, Assistant Dean of the Graduate School; Dr. Arnaldo De Guzman, School Director; Dr. Reyner Villaseñor, Chairman of Public Administration – Graduate School; and Ms. Ronavee Divine R. Alagano, Planning and CPD Officer. During the meeting, both universities discussed various areas for collaboration, including: ● Joint research initiatives in Business, Education, and Public Administration; ● Research-based extension projects and workshop series focused on innovation and sustainability; ● Accreditation and microcredential programs for graduate-level studies; ● Co-hosting research conferences and symposia, including participation in the upcoming APCORE event and Gusi Peace Prize activities; ● Possible joint organization of research festivals and community-based projects aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The discussion also highlighted the potential for CvSU–Imus and UPHSD to explore co-organized webinars, research conferences, and capacity-building activities to further develop academic and institutional linkages. The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of partnership between UPHSD and CvSU–Imus, underscoring their shared vision of advancing quality education, research excellence, and meaningful community engagement through sustained collaboration and mutual support.

The meeting was attended by Ms. Ciara Ember Fabroa and Mr. Oliver Sta. Ana from Maynilad, along with the College Deans and representatives from various departments. Among the participants were Dr. Evelyn Antiporda, Dean of the College of International Tourism and Hospitality Management (CITHM), together with Khiana Crisostomo and Kimberly Claire Santillan, student representatives from CITHM; Dr. Bernard Macinas from the College of Arts and Sciences; Mr. David Romualdez from the College of Engineering; Ms. Lily Aileen Alinao, Dean of College of Medical Technology; Ms. Joanna Bello from Student Affairs and Services; and Ms. Guia Sta. Ana from College of Nursing. The discussion focused on finalizing plans and collaborative activities for the upcoming UPHSD Water Action Summit: From Campus to the Community – Celebrating SDG 6, an event dedicated to promoting water conservation, sustainability, and community engagement. On September 18, 2025, representatives from LinkedIn visited the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA and met with the heads and deans of the different colleges at Room 124 to present their company and discuss potential areas of collaboration. The meeting aimed to explore initiatives that would strengthen career development, employability, and digital networking opportunities for both students and faculty members. The session was actively participated in by the college heads and department representatives, who engaged in discussions on integrating LinkedIn’s professional tools and resources into the University’s academic and career development programs. The visit reflects the institution’s continuous commitment to fostering partnerships that equip Perpetualites for success in the global professional landscape.

On September 16, 2025, representatives from the Faculty of the College of Business Administration and Accountancy (CBAA) and the Linkages Department attended the seminar titled “From Campus to Career: Equipping Students for What's Next with LinkedIn,” held at the Viventis Career Center, Ground Floor, 1 Garden Way, Edsa Shangri-La Hotel, Mandaluyong City. The event, organized by Viventis Search Asia in collaboration with LinkedIn, aimed to equip students and educators with insights and strategies for leveraging professional networking platforms to enhance career readiness and employability. Peer-to-Peer Tutorial Sessions: Episode 2

On September 15, 2025, the Junior Philippine Computer Society (JPCS) – Las Piñas Chapter rolled out Episode 2 of its Peer Tutoring Series: CUT! CODE PTP, held from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The session brought together CCS freshmen and sophomores eager to strengthen their knowledge in Discrete Mathematics and Advanced Java Fundamentals. What made the event more meaningful was that the tutors themselves were fellow CCS students, showing how peer-to-peer learning can build confidence and make complex lessons more relatable. The student-tutors, Ms. Arnica N. Arturo and Mr. John Rainier Bartolata for Advanced Java, and Mr. Charlie V. Makayan and Mr. Mark Manuel M. Ponce for Discrete Mathematics, generously shared their time and expertise. Their efforts, supported by Dean Jenniline D. Eya, Adviser Ms. Ma. Teresa Plastina, faculty members, and JPCS officers, created a dynamic environment where learning was interactive, collaborative, and inspiring. The event showcased not only academic growth but also leadership and service within the CCS student community. This initiative strongly supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. With the theme “Shaping the Future of HEIs in the Philippines: AI Readiness and Micro-Credentials in Action,” the forum featured key discussions on micro-credentialing, institutional readiness for AI, and the future of learner-centered education. The event gathered leaders and administrators from various higher education institutions to explore innovative approaches in integrating artificial intelligence and micro-credentialing in academic programs.
