The UPHSD and Maynilad Water Action Summit 2025-2026 from Campus to Community Awareness Day

On October 27, 2025, the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA (UPHSD), in partnership with Maynilad Water Academy, successfully held the Water Action Summit 2025–2026 with the theme “From Campus to Community: Advancing SDG 6 Awareness.” The event aimed to promote Sustainable Development Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) by fostering awareness, responsible water management, and sustainable community practices within and beyond the university. The event commenced at the Guadalupe Moran Building with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, symbolizing the formal opening of the Water Action Summit and the university’s commitment to environmental stewardship and community partnership. Present during the ceremony were UPHSD administrators, faculty members, student representatives, and Maynilad officials who collectively emphasized the importance of water conservation and education as a shared responsibility. Following the opening, the program continued at the Ernesto Palanca Hall, where representatives from Maynilad delivered insightful talks on water sustainability, wastewater management, and the role of youth and academic institutions in promoting clean water access. The discussions highlighted Maynilad’s ongoing projects and collaborations that contribute to achieving SDG 6 targets in local communities. The summit also featured interactive sessions that encouraged students and faculty to participate in advocacy campaigns, research initiatives, and extension projects aligned with water sustainability. These engagements reinforced UPHSD’s mission of producing socially responsible and environmentally conscious graduates through experiential learning and community partnership. All departments of UPHSD actively participated in the event, demonstrating the university’s unified commitment to advancing environmental awareness and sustainable development initiatives. The UPHSD–Maynilad Water Action Summit 2025–2026 concluded with a renewed call for continuous collaboration between the academe and industry sectors to promote the effective implementation of SDG 6 — ensuring the availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.
