The University of Perpetual Help System DALTA (UPHSD) officially strengthened its partnership with the Huawei ICT Academy through a Memorandum of Understanding signing, held with the presence of key leaders: Dr. Rosalie Armando, Central IT Director; Mr. Andrei Manuel, Huawei Representative; Dr. Jenniline Eya, Dean of CCS Las Piñas; Engr. Jerome Refran, Dean of CCS Calamba; and Ms. Maribel Sandagon, OIC of CCS Molino. This milestone reflects UPHSD’s commitment to bridging academic learning with industry-driven training in order to prepare students for the demands of the digital world.
Following the MOU signing, faculty members and students from the DALTA campuses immediately participated in training sessions held at the iMac Laboratory of CCS Las Piñas. The program, facilitated through the Huawei ICT Academy platform, introduced participants to specialized modules designed to strengthen both practical and theoretical competencies in information and communications technology. This hands-on training provided opportunities for collaboration, skill-building, and direct exposure to globally recognized ICT standards.
The partnership and subsequent training align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure. By investing in faculty and student development, UPHSD ensures that its academic community is equipped with future-ready skills, capable of driving technological innovation while contributing to sustainable and inclusive progress in society.
