The University of Perpetual Help System DALTA (UPHSD) formalized its partnership with the Huawei ICT Academy through a signed Memorandum of Understanding, marking a significant milestone in advancing ICT education. Present during the ceremony were Dr. Rosalie Armando, Central IT Director; Mr. Andrei Manuel, Huawei Representative; Dr. Jenniline Eya, Dean of CCS Las Piñas; Engr. Jerome Refran, Dean of CCS Calamba; and Ms. Maribel Sandagon, OIC of CCS Molino. Their presence highlighted the strong collaboration between the university and Huawei in fostering innovation and equipping students with globally relevant digital skills.
The Huawei ICT Academy is a global program that connects universities to industry expertise, offering comprehensive training that combines theory and hands-on application. Through this initiative, UPHSD students and faculty gain access to specialized training modules, instructor development, and internationally recognized certifications in ICT. Students from the DALTA campuses served as witnesses, affirming the value of this partnership and recognizing the career pathways and learning opportunities it opens for them in the fast-paced digital economy.
This collaboration is directly aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure. By integrating academic learning with real-world applications, this partnership ensures that UPHSD graduates are not only prepared for the demands of the ICT sector but are also empowered to contribute to sustainable and inclusive growth in society.
