Tree planting is the process of transplanting tree seedlings, usually for forestry, land reclamation or landscaping purposes. Trees are not just for beautification, they also provide many benefits to people. In addition, it averts the harsh effects of climate change, which we have seen in the form of typhoons, landslides, monsoon rains and erratic weather conditions.
The Community Extension Services (CES) initiated this tree planting activity in Brgy. San Francisco, Lipa City, Batangas on 10 February 2023. It is spearheaded by Dr Josephine P. Dasig, head of the Community Extension Services (CES).
The team planted a total of 450 mahogany saplings that will serve as a perimeter fence to protect the land. Despite the scorching sun, the student volunteers enjoyed planting trees.
