On October 8, 2024, a solemn mass was held at the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA Chaplain it was presided by Rev. Fr. Raymond Urriza, C.Ss.R. Vice-Provincial Superior of the Redemptorist Father and Fr. Rico John Bilangel Rector of Shrine from the National Shrine of Our Mother of Perpetual Help. The event has been as a moment of reflection and spiritual unity for the university community it highlighted shared values of faith, service, and devotion. The mass was attended by leaders, faculty, and students in an atmosphere of gratitude and prayer.

After the mass, a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA and the National Shrine of Our Mother of Perpetual Help. The signatories were by Rev. Fr. Raymond Urriza, C.Ss.R. Vice-Provincial Superior of the Redemptorist and Fr. Rico John Bilangel, Rector of Shrine. The School Director Dr. Arnaldo S. From September 29 to October 6, 2024, the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA (UPHSD) conducted a faculty mobility program for the College of Business Administration and Accountancy, with Mr. Joseph Vincent Tiongson and Ms. Lalaine Kristine Miravite representing the UPHSD at Universitas Negeri Manado and Universitas Klabat in Indonesia. As part of this initiative, the Faculty Exchange Program between the UPHSD and Universitas Negeri Manado (UniMa) aimed to promote cross-cultural academic exchange, enhance professional development, and strengthen institutional collaboration.

The program featured a variety of activities, including lectures, workshops, and cultural immersion experiences, where faculty members engaged in meaningful discussions to share best practices in education and research. These interactions not only deepened academic ties but also broadened global perspectives, allowing participants to gain valuable insights into diverse teaching methodologies and educational systems. Through cultural immersion, faculty members experienced each other’s traditions firsthand, fostering a sense of mutual understanding and international camaraderie.

This initiative not only enriched the expertise of the faculty but also paved the way for future joint research projects and academic partnerships, reinforcing the commitment of both institutions to academic excellence and global cooperation

The University of Perpetual Help – Las Piñas held a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing with Faithbook Foundation Inc., on September 25, 2024, at the School Director’s Office. In attendance were Dr. Arnaldo S. De Guzman, School Director; Dr. Gabriel Flores, Director of Planning, Linkages, ETEEAP, and CPD; Dr. Aries Antiola, Admissions Officer; and Ms. Mildred M. Nicasio-Malaluan, Founder and President of Faithbook.PH, along with Ms. Jessa, representing the organization.

As part of the agreement, Faithbook.PH will provide students with a high-quality online catechetical learning tool and will also conduct seminars and training sessions for all employees.

Last 9 July 2024, a group Deans and Office Heads visited the Maynilad La Mesa Eco Park Water Treatment Plant 2 located at Balara, Quezon City. The activity was done in line with the objectives of UPHSD’s MOU with Maynilad that was made last 24 May 2024. The participants were: Dr. Belinda Conde, Director of the UPHSD Research and Development Center; Dean Ma. Imelda Javier of the College of Nursing; Dr. Ma. Victoria Mendoza, Dean of the College of Pharmacy; Dean Lily Aileen Alinao of the College of Medical Technology; Engr Lorena Ilagan, Dean of the College of Engineering; Dean Evelyn Antiporda of the College of International Tourism and Hospitality; Dr. Raul Trinidad, Dean of the College of Criminology; Engr. Edilberto Matibag, Manager of the General Services Department; and Engr. Aileen Galvez, Pollution Control Officer.

 

The activity lasted for the entire day. The highlights of the schedule include: a) the presentation of the brief story of the Philippine Water Sector and Maynilad Water Transformation; b) tour on the basic water operations; c) tour of the water laboratory; and d) discussion on possible joint research undertakings as well as sharing of initiatives for effective water preservation and conservation.

Dr. Loureli Siy, Dr. Perlita Custodio and Dr. Gabriel Flores participated in the 19th AUN-QA Training Course for Accomplishing Programme Assessment (Version 4, Tier 1)  held in Bangkok, Thailand, The training offered an in-depth exploration of the latest assessment standards and practices, The UPHSD- Las Pinas contingent engaged in discussions and hands-on workshops designed to refine their skills in evaluating academic programs. The course included collaborative exercises that provided valuable insights into implementing AUN-QA’s rigorous criteria. By the end of the training, attendees were equipped with enhanced skills to elevate the quality of academic programs at their institutions.

As part of the partnership agreement with Naniwa High School, last May 17, around 20 students and officials of the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA visited Nabari City, Japan. The students who are enrolled in Nihongo enjoyed the activities like walking in ninja costumes and interacting with local students. They were impressed by the city’s beauty and hospitality. The activity aimed to foster cultural exchange and widen the students’ perspectives as they pursue their careers in life.
